For Candidates
A fair test, and a clear record of what it touched.
A company has invited you to take an assessment on Clevid. This page explains what the test client does on your computer, what is recorded, what is never touched, and what happens if something goes wrong. Nothing here costs you anything.

01 · Session Sequence
What happens, in order
Read your invitation
It has a one-time code, the deadline, and the duration. Check your computer meets the requirements below.
Install the client
Windows 10 or 11. It takes a minute. You may see a SmartScreen warning — the download page explains it.
Preflight check
The client checks your camera, looks for virtual devices, remote sessions and extra displays, and tells you what to fix before anything starts.
Read the notice, then start
The client tells you what is recorded: your webcam and microphone, for the whole test. Pressing Start begins the recording, the lockdown and the timer.
Submit & exit
Lockdown is released, you see a receipt of what was accessed, and the client stops. Nothing keeps running in the background.
02 · Privacy Boundaries
What is recorded — and what is never touched.
You see this exact list in the recording notice before you press Start, and again on your session receipt when you finish.
| Category | Recorded During the Test | Never Touched |
|---|---|---|
| Webcam video & microphone audio | Recorded continuously from pressing Start until you submit. | Never recorded before you press Start or after you submit; never saved to your local disk. |
| Active window & running processes | Window title and process names are checked while the test is live to spot overlays and remote tools. | Keystrokes outside the test window, personal files, documents, or browser history are never touched. |
| Your answers & timing | Encrypted and saved to the server as you progress through the paper. | Practice test answers never leave the window; client stops completely when the test ends. |
You will need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- A working webcam, microphone, and stable connection
- One display connected
- A quiet place for the duration
Before you start
- Close remote-desktop and screen-sharing tools
- Disconnect extra monitors
- Turn off virtual camera software
- Plug in your laptop; the timer does not pause
If something is flagged
A flag is a note for a reviewer, not a verdict. A person on the hiring team watches the recording and decides. You can appeal through them, and they can grant a retake with a fresh set of questions.

Common questions
Straight answers on what the desktop client accesses, how offline recovery works, and how flags are reviewed.
During the test it keeps the test window in front, blocks other apps, overlays, screen sharing and the clipboard, and records your webcam. It checks the machine before you start (camera, virtual devices, remote sessions, extra displays). When you submit, it releases everything and stops.
